Who We Are
This site is run by Purrify Management Inc., a Canadian company incorporated in British Columbia. Our incorporation number is BC1318076 and our business number is 784960007 BC0001. Our office is at 109-17680 Rue Charles, Mirabel, QC J7J 0T6, CA. This policy tells you what we collect when you visit this site, buy from us, or write to us, what we do with it, and how you get a copy of it or have it deleted. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If a line is unclear, ask us. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
Information We Collect
Some of it you hand us. The rest the site records while you use it.
- What you give us: your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address, what you ordered, and anything you type into a form, a review, or a message to us.
- Your account, if you make one: your email address and the sign-in details that keep you logged in.
- Your payment: we never see or store your full card number. Stripe takes the card, and sends us back only the last four digits, the card brand, and whether the payment went through.
- What the site records on its own: your device and browser, the country and region your connection comes from, the pages you open, how long you stay, and the site or ad that sent you here.
- What you tell the chat assistant, described in its own section below.
How We Use Your Information
We use it to run the business and to make the site better. Nothing else.
- To take your order, charge it, ship it, and tell you where it is.
- To answer your questions and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims.
- To keep your account working and keep you signed in.
- To spot fraud and stop it, and to keep the site up.
- To see which pages and articles actually help people, so we write more of what works.
- To send you offers and news, but only if you asked for them. You can stop those at any time.
- To show our ads to people like you on other sites, but only if you accept advertising cookies on the banner.
- To meet the rules we have to meet: tax, accounting, consumer law, and a lawful order from a court or a regulator.
Who We Hand Your Information To
We do not sell your personal information. We do pass parts of it to the companies that make the site and the orders work. Each one gets only what it needs for its job, and none of them may use it for their own purposes.
- Stripe: takes the payment and runs the fraud checks.
- Supabase: holds our database and keeps you signed in to your account.
- Google: Google Analytics, for how the site is used, and only after you accept analytics on the banner.
- Meta: ad measurement and retargeting, and only after you accept advertising on the banner.
- PostHog: product analytics and the session recording described below, and only after you accept analytics on the banner.
- Our email sender: sends your receipt, your shipping notice, our replies, and any newsletter you signed up for.
- The shipping carriers: get your name, address and phone number so a parcel can reach you.
- Our accountants and lawyers, when they need it to do their work for us.
- The authorities, when the law requires it or when we have to defend a legal claim.
- A buyer of the business, if Purrify is ever sold. You would be told, and this policy would still cover your information.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Your information is stored and handled outside Quebec, and most of it outside Canada, mainly in the United States. The companies named above run the payment, the database, the email, the analytics and the ads from there. Quebec law requires us to tell you this before you give us anything. Privacy law in those countries is not the same as it is here, and a foreign court or government can in some cases require a company to hand over information it holds. Some of your details have to travel this way. There is no way to charge a card or ship a parcel without it.
Chat Conversations
When you use the chat assistant on our site, we store the messages you send and the assistant's replies so we can review conversations for product support and quality. We also record a hashed version of your IP address, your browser user agent, and the page that referred you. Chat transcripts are retained for 90 days and then deleted automatically.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tools to run the site, remember your language and your country, keep you signed in, understand how the site is used, and see where our visitors come from. One of them gives your visit an anonymous ID and no more than that. The banner on your first visit is where you accept the ones that are not needed to run the site, or turn them down. Our cookie notice lists every single one, what it does, who sets it, and how long it lasts.
Session Recording
We record how pages are used on this site, checkout included. The recording plays back like a video of the page: what scrolled, what got clicked, where somebody got stuck. It is run for us by PostHog. What you type is hidden. Every form field is masked before the recording is saved, so your name, address, email and messages are not in it. Your card details are never in it either: those fields belong to Stripe and sit in a separate frame the recorder cannot see. Recording only happens if you accept analytics on the cookie banner. Opt out and it stops from your next page onward. Ask us and we will delete the recordings from your visit.
The Pages You Visit
We keep a record of which pages you open on this site, tied to that anonymous visit ID. It tells us which articles and guides actually help people find what they need, so we can write more of what works. The page list itself holds page addresses and page titles, nothing you type into a form and nothing that arrives in a link. It hangs off the visit record, which also keeps your browser details and the country and region your connection came from. We do not keep your IP address itself with this record. And if you place an order, that order is tied to the same visit, so your name and email can be traced back to it. We keep the page list for 13 months and then delete it. Decline on the cookie banner and we stop recording the pages you visit. You can also clear the cookie any time in your browser settings.
How Long We Keep It
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Here is how long that is, category by category.
- Chat conversations: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- The record of pages you visited: 13 months, then deleted.
- The anonymous visit ID: 2 years, or until you clear your browser storage.
- Session recordings: held in our PostHog account and cleared on PostHog's own schedule. Ask us and we delete yours sooner.
- Order, payment and shipping records: six years after the tax year they belong to, because Canadian tax and accounting rules say so.
- Your account: for as long as you keep it. Ask us to close it and we delete what we are not required by law to keep.
- Newsletter and offer lists: until you unsubscribe, plus a note that you unsubscribed so we do not add you back by mistake.
- Emails and support messages: as long as we need them to finish helping you and to handle a later claim about the same order.
Marketing Email and Taking Back Your Consent
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. You can also write to us and we will do it for you. You will still get the emails that belong to an order you placed: the receipt, the shipping notice, and our reply to a question. Those are not marketing. To change your cookie answer, clear this site's cookies and stored data in your browser. The banner comes back on your next visit and you can choose again.
Your Rights in Canada and Quebec
Canada's federal privacy law and Quebec's Law 25 give you real rights over what we hold. Write to us and we will act on any of them. It costs you nothing.
- See what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Fix anything that is wrong, incomplete, or out of date.
- Have it deleted, or have us stop using it, unless the law makes us keep it.
- Get your information in a portable computer file so you can take it somewhere else.
- Take back your consent at any time, for marketing, for analytics, or for advertising.
- Ask us to stop a search engine linking to information about you, where Quebec law allows it.
How We Handle Your Request
We answer within 30 days. We may ask you to prove who you are first, so that we never hand your information to somebody pretending to be you. If we cannot do what you asked, we tell you why and we tell you who to complain to. No computer decides anything about you on its own here. There is no automatic scoring and no automatic refusal.
If You Buy From the United States
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, or another state with a privacy law, you have rights that look much like the Canadian ones above, and you use the same address to claim them.
- Know what we collect about you, why, and who we give it to.
- Get a copy of it, correct it, or have it deleted.
- Opt out of targeted advertising. Turning down the banner does that.
- Have somebody you authorize make the request for you.
- Be treated exactly the same afterwards. We will never charge you more or give you less for asking.
We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We have never sold your personal information, we do not sell it now, and no list of our customers is for sale. California law also counts some ad tracking as "sharing", even where no money changes hands. Our advertising cookies only run if you accept them on the banner, and turning them down stops it.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 14 without a parent's consent, and we do not market to children. Are you a parent who thinks your child gave us something? Write to us and we will delete it.
Keeping It Safe
Traffic to this site is encrypted. Access to the database is limited to the people who need it to do their job. Card details never touch our systems at all: Stripe handles them. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend ours is. If information about you is ever lost or exposed in a way that could cause you real harm, we will tell you and we will report it to the regulator, as the law requires.
Links to Other Sites
Our website links out to other websites, and our products are sold in stores with their own sites. Once you leave here, this policy stops applying. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they collect. Read their privacy policies.
Who Looks After Your Information
One person at Purrify is responsible for protecting personal information and for answering the requests described on this page. Write to our Privacy Officer using the email address or the mailing address below and it reaches them.
How to Complain
Come to us first. Write to the address below and we will look into it and answer you. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to a regulator, free of charge. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, at priv.gc.ca. In Quebec, it is the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The date at the bottom of this page tells you when it last changed. If a change matters to you, for example if we start using your information for something new, we will say so on the site before it takes effect, and by email if you are on our list.
