Is charcoal safe for cats? Purrify is fragrance-free activated carbon made from coconut shells, you mix it into litter, and it is the most powerful odor remover in the world. Fragrance-free is not the same as dust-free, so sprinkle it low and gently. If your cat has asthma or another breathing problem, ask your vet before you add it.
Sprinkle close to fresh litter and mix gently, without shaking the bag or raising a cloud of dust. Use the 15g trial bag all at once. For larger bags, use 2 tablespoons of Purrify per litter box. Top up whenever the box starts to smell again. Keep scooping and changing litter as usual.
Ask your veterinarian before changing litter or adding a litter additive. Cornell lists dusty litter among suspected asthma triggers. Purrify is for odor control; it is not a treatment for asthma or protection against lung disease. Avoid breathing in dust when handling litter or granules.
Contact a veterinarian right away. Breathing difficulty can have several causes and needs prompt assessment. Do not try to solve it by changing litter or adding Purrify.
