Cookie Notice
This page lists what Purrify Management Inc. stores on your device when you visit purrify.ca, what each item does, and how to switch off the parts you do not want. No legal fog. Just the list.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep. Next time you load a page, the browser hands it back. That is the whole trick.
It is how a shop remembers you picked French, that you are buying in Canadian dollars, or that there is already a bag in your cart. Some cookies vanish when you close the browser. Others sit there for a set time and then expire on their own.
Some are ours. Some belong to the companies we use to run the shop, like Stripe for taking payment. We say which is which in the tables below.
What happens when you accept or opt out
The banner gives you two buttons: accept, or opt out. We save your answer on your device so we only ask once.
Accept, and we may use the analytics and advertising items in the tables below.
Opt out, and we stop them. We stop counting the pages you open, we stop the screen recording described further down, and we stop handing Meta anything to build an ad audience with. A tool that had already started on the page you are standing on finishes with that page and does not come back.
Either way the shop still works. You can read, search, add to cart, pay, get your order, sign in to your account, switch between English and French, and see prices in your own currency. The items that do those jobs are not part of the choice, because without them the site cannot do what you just asked it to do.
Changed your mind? Clear cookies and site data for purrify.ca in your browser. The banner comes back and you can answer again.
The full list
Three groups. The first runs for everyone. The other two run only if you accepted.
Needed to run the site
These do a job you asked for. They carry no advertising and they are not part of the banner choice. Block them in your browser and parts of the shop stop working.
| Name | What it does | Set by | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookieConsent | Remembers your banner choice so we stop asking | Purrify | 1 year |
| bx_consent_mode | Tells our own pixel which consent rules your country needs | Purrify | 6 hours |
| NEXT_LOCALE, NEXT_LOCALE_SOURCE | Remembers whether you chose English or French | Purrify | 1 year |
| purr_country | Shows Canadian or US prices straight away, with no flicker | Purrify, written at the edge by Cloudflare | Rewritten each visit |
| purr_us_banner | Remembers you closed the US shipping notice | Purrify | 90 days |
| purrify_freshness_session | Ties your quiz and chat answers to your visit so the advice matches what you told us | Purrify | 1 year |
| purrify_confirmation | Carries your order details across to the thank-you page | Purrify | 3 minutes |
| purrify_ref | Credits the partner whose link you arrived on | Purrify | 90 days |
| purrify_referral_code | Holds a friend's referral code until you reach checkout | Purrify | 30 days |
| sb-...-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your Purrify account | Purrify, through Supabase | Until you sign out |
| investor_access | Unlocks the private investor page for people with a code | Purrify | 30 days |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Card fraud checks while you are paying | Stripe | 1 year / 30 minutes |
Analytics, only after you accept
These tell us which pages help people and which ones lose them. Opt out on the banner and none of them run.
| Name | What it does | Set by | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| purr_vid | An anonymous ID for your visit, so our own page count knows one person from two. No name, no email attached to it. | Purrify | 2 years |
| purr_consent | Our own pixel keeps a receipt of the answer you gave, so it can prove it stopped when you said stop | Purrify | Until you clear site data |
| purrify_attr_sid | Ties the visit to the order it turned into, so the right partner gets paid and we can answer a question about your order | Purrify | 13 months |
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics: visit counts, where people arrived from, which pages they read | 2 years | |
| ph_<key>_posthog | PostHog: the same kind of counting, plus the screen recording described below | PostHog | 1 year |
Advertising, only after you accept
These let Meta measure whether an ad led to a sale, and show you Purrify again elsewhere. Opt out and neither one runs.
| Name | What it does | Set by | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta ad measurement and retargeting. Our own server writes it, on our own domain. | Meta | 90 days |
| _fbc | Records that you arrived from a Meta ad, so that ad gets credit for the sale | Meta | 90 days |
Browser storage, and our emails
Browser storage does the same job as a cookie. The difference is that it stays in the browser instead of riding along with every page you load. We use it for your banner answer, your light or dark setting, a form you started filling in, a game score, and the same anonymous visit ID that is in the table above.
Clearing cookies and site data for purrify.ca clears this too. Both go together in every major browser.
Our emails carry pictures. If your mail app loads them, the company that sends our mail can record that the message was opened and roughly when. Turn images off in your mail app and that stops.
Links in our emails carry a short tag saying which message you clicked from. It tells us that the reorder reminder worked and the newsletter did not. It says nothing about you that we do not already have from your order.
We record how the pages are used
This one deserves saying out loud rather than hiding in a table row. We use a tool called PostHog that records how a page is used and plays it back like a short video: clicks, taps, scrolling, mouse movement, and which page you went to next.
It runs on every page, checkout included. Checkout is the one we most need to see, because that is where people get stuck and give up, and a recording shows us why in ten seconds when a chart never would.
What you type is masked. It shows up as blocks, not as letters, so your name, your address and your email are not readable in the recording. Your card number is typed inside Stripe's own window, which sits outside our page, so it is never in the recording at all.
This runs only if you accepted on the banner. Opt out and it stops from your next page onward.
How to control all of it
You have four levers, and they stack.
- Our banner. Tap opt out and every analytics and advertising item on this page stops. Clear site data for purrify.ca to bring the banner back and change your answer.
- Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under settings, then privacy. Block everything and the shop breaks in visible ways: you cannot stay signed in, and a cart may not survive the next page.
- Your mail app. Turn off automatic image loading to stop the open count in our emails.
- Google and Meta. Both run their own opt-outs, and those cover far more than this site. The links are below.
What opting out does not do
You will still see ads. You will just see less relevant ones, because nobody is measuring what you like.
A choice lives on one browser on one device. Opt out on your phone and your laptop still has to be told separately. Clearing your cookies wipes the choice along with everything else, and the banner asks again.
None of this stops the essential items in the first table. Those are how the site does the job you came for.
When this page changes
We update this list whenever we add or drop a tool. The date at the top tells you when we last did.
This page covers what we store on your device. What we do with the information afterwards is in our privacy policy.
